Sport in Ukraine

People in Ukraine are fond of sports and games. All kinds of physical exercises are very useful to make our bodies strong enough to keep ourselves fit and healthy. We have a lot of gyms, swimming pools, stadiums and sports grounds. The most popular sport in Ukraine is football. There are lot of good footballers and football fans in Ukraine. Also people like to play volleyball, basketball, tennis. Many people like jogging and swimming. Although Ukraine participates in both winter and summer Olympics. It usually does quite well mostly in the summer games. There are many famous Ukrainian gymnasts: Olena Vitrychenko, Anna Bessonova, Larisa Latynina, Lilia Podkopayeva,  Ukrainian boxers are also very famous – especially heavyweight boxers Volodymyr and Vitalii Klitchko.Today Ukraine gives the international sports scene such names track and field athlete Zhanna Pintusevich, tennis player Andriy Medvedev, swimmer Yana Klochkova and footballer Andriy Shevchenko.
